Moon Salutation

Today’s full moon is a great time to practice Moon Salutations to calm you down.

If you have been doing yoga for even a little bit, you have no doubt practiced Sun Salutations. Moon salutations are their lesser known sister sequences. A moon salutation is about Yin, feminine or cooling energy. It is a more quieting, meditative sequence. Feel free to practice moon salutations anytime of the day but they are really nice in the evening especially by the light of a full moon!

This version of a moon salutation focuses on lateral bends. It is a great way to balance out your energy. Practice through one time holding each pose for 3 to 5 breaths. Then flow, linking one movement to one breath.
