Sweetheart wanted to have some trout for dinner. I was tired of the same lemon-dill seasoning for baked fish. So I tried this one and it’s a keeper.
A nice trout fillet for dinner is very nummy. I like trout better than salmon because it has a finer taste.
Except I was in a creative void. How to cook it? What to season it with? I didn’t want to fry it. Then baking was in order.
I tried this seasoning mix with very tasty results:
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 3/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
I applied it to the fish for 15 minutes before putting it in the oven at 325F til ready.
It is a wonderful taste for the fall season.
